Annual 'Bud' Fish Tree Lighting Ceremony:
Bud Fish was a charter member of the Rotary Club of Truckee, and a longtime Truckee resident. Bud had an abiding commitment to his family, his profession (forester), and his community. For years he saw to it that Fibreboard provided the Christmas tree for downtown, and assembled a crew of volunteers to put it up and decorate.
Upon Bud's death, the Rotary Club of Truckee secured, planted, and dedicated a permanent Christmas tree downtown in his memory. The Rotary Club partners with the American Cancer Society in welcoming the citizens of Truckee to the lighting of this memorial tree. Memorial tree ornaments can be purchased inside the Welcome Center for a donation to honor cancer survivors, or pay tribute to the lives lost to the disease, and raise money to help fight it. All proceeds will be donated to the American Cancer Society's Relay For Life of Truckee Tahoe.
